Introduction.
The Church of St. Mary the Virgin in Elsenham is an early Norman church, built on the site of an even earlier Saxon church. The Church is a Grade 1 listed building with many original features. The best information that we have is that the Church was completed in 1110, and we are celebrating the 900th anniversary of the Church throughout 2010. A series of activities is planned, with something taking place in every month of the year. A selection of the events is listed, and as more details become available they will be publicized around the village.
Please come and join us in celebrating 900 years of Christianity in the village – and also have some fun!
We look forward to seeing you at some or all of these events.
